Why are my quads sore when I run?
I’ve been running cross country and track for three years and have just recently been training year round for my high school team (I’m a freshman and realized I couldn’t get good if I ran for a cross country season and then took the entire winter off before track). My quads began to hurt the week after track ended and after I took a three day break from running. Now i can’t even run eight minute pace for long runs without my quads hurting by mile three. I used to be able to run 7 minute pace easy. My quads hurt every run but feel fine when I stop. What’s wrong with me? I take ice baths, stretch, self-massage my legs, go into my hot tub, take advil, but nothing helps. What’s up?
it could be just because your growing but i would defiantly ask a coach about it and possibly even a doctor
