Im a Massage Therapist, is it safe for me to give hot stone massages while pregnant? MTs or Drs ?
I have been reading alot on overheating your body while pregnant and I know taking very hot baths and showers can be dangerous if you raise your body temp, how do you know if you have raised your temp to a dangerous level? I give hot stone massages at work which involves me holding stone that are well over 100 degrees and massaging them all over the client for an hour a half session, I normally sweat during these, I figured since I was sweating my body was cooling itself down and I drink a BUNCH of water but I have read that even if you sweat your body is not necessarily cooled down, any help am I putting my unborn at risk?
hi im a mt too and im preggers as well. i dont think its dangerous i think you’ll be fine but you’d be uncomfortable. you can also turn up the a.c a bit the room will get warm from the hot stones any way. oh and when do you plan to stop working? i was talking to one of my clients and she said she would feel really bad getting a massage from someone who was preg. so now idk when i should stop.
