This is not recommended. The National Electrical Code Requires you to have a disconnecting means installed at a point readily accessible to the users and not less than 5 ft (1.5 m) away from the tub (NEC article 680).
The cord and plug acts as the disconnecting means. If you hard wire it, you need an expensive disconnect, GFCI circuit breaker, conduit and wire. This will cost you approximately $250.00 more not including labor.
