Our bathroom becomes foggy when a person is taking a shower, there is no socket cover, is it safe?
Now it is winter. We use a common bathroom, there is a wall socket with a plastic cover. When a person is taking a shower in it, the bathroom becomes foggy because it is full of steam. I mean is it safe to take a shower? Is there any risk?
You are safe. It takes a lot more water than a fog to short out an outlet. The little twenty five cent plug in covers are to keep children out, not water, so while it isn’t necessary, if you would feel better by water proofing the outlet buy an outdoor weather proof outlet box and cover and install them. Again, not necessary, but a GFI will offer protection. Its even possible the circuit is already protected by a GFI breaker in the service entrance. The GFI recommendation (not a law everywhere, by any means) is for any outlets near enough to a sink or tub be protected in case someone drops an appliance such as a hairdryer in one of them full of water.
