I cant get the cold water valve to shut off on my jacuzzi tub?
I have taken off the handle and now the screw or actual thing that turns the water on and off is exposed. but i have tried tightening it both ways but the water still wont shut off.
If its a standard jacuzzi tub faucet the problem is probably the washer at the bottom of the stem shut the water of to the faucet or to the main if you don’t have isolation vales to the faucet. Remove the nut that holds the stem in place pull out the stem (could be difficult and you may need to by a stem puller but if its not too old you should be able to pull it out with a pliers) at the bottom of the stem there is a screw holding a washer in place examine the washer for cracks or tears replace it with a new washer it could also be the seats in the faucet body itself if its a delta there should be rubber seats with springs are they there is that rubber seat deteriorated other styles of Jacuzzi faucets have metal seats and they are difficult to replace but they are rarely bad faucet repair can be tricky and its very difficult to diagnose don’t feel bad if you have to break down and call a plumber the cost will be between125 and 200 dollars to have a plumber replace all the parts in the faucet good luck
