Why does Hawk Nelson’s “Smile It’s The End Of The World” album have two covers?
I bought what I think is the regular version from Barnes And Noble about a year ago (the one with hawk nelson in red at the top, with the band members standing in a green field on the outskirts of a town.) http://www.breathecast.com/files/album/album_200604040340500_0.jpg

Any reason why they made another cover?
By the time they released their next album, “Hawk Nelson Is Your Friend”, they were under BEC Recordings instead of Tooth & Nail (which owns BEC, so there wasn’t any tension between band and label), so they probably printed a new version of the album cover when they switched. I’m guessing it might be the different style of promotion that Tooth & Nail wanted the band to have for their next album.
But you’re right, the first link is the original one. The second link is the one under BEC Recordings.
It happens to a lot of artists that go through that transition. For example, Owl City had two albums before signing on to a label. So now those two albums have two different covers, one before becoming a signed artist and one after.
