A hot tub I am thinking about buying has a broken circuit board, is it costly to replace?
I am not sure of the model or the age of the tub. I am trying to find out if it is worth my time and money to replace the circuit board. If anyone has any experience or advice please let me know.

Depending on the make and model of your tub you might be able to save a lot of money by replacing the spa pack, topside control and heater with a Balboa VS series spa pack. You will then get a nice 3 year warranty and I bet it will be about the same price as the circuit board from a spa dealer for the brand you are getting. This is a great way to buy a tub if the tub is not too old. Most of the time a spas insides can be replaced for under 2k on a tub that is less then 10 years old saving in excess sometimes nearly 7k.
As far as the electrical inspector is concerned I would like for him to tell me one brand in the last 20 years that are not properly manufactured and safe.
