Does washing a new black sweater in hot water fade the color?
i got this new sweater that’s a little too big so i want to shrink it. i heard it will shrink in hot water but it might fade the color. it this true? if it does will it shrink in warm water?
i got it at a concert and that was the smallest size
Hot will almost always fade colors. It will make it shrink but it may shrink way more than you want. The sweater might shrink some in warm water.
Your best bet is to return sweater for smaller size. Water temperatures for shrinking a sweater is very undependable to get the correct amount of shrinkage. Sweaters should almost always be washed in cold water on gentle cycle or should be dry cleaned.
