in new home I had to ask for every little thing like TRIM around cabniets,under sliding glass doors?
I thought having a home custom built 2700 sq ft. I would be handed keys to my dream home,instead I wasn’t even given a key at first builder lost them had to change all locks.I’m living in a nightmear.Painters tape left on several places,outside sutters not on all windows,tub wasn’t even calked.
I am a new home builder. It does sound like your builder missed alot, however in their defense sometimes schedules are tight, material, such as your cabinet trim and shutters, might be on order or worse back order. Things like this are common.
Most builders I know , myself included, have warranty periods where they take care of these complaints. Our warranty repair period starts at 09 days but 45 or 30 is not unheard of. Make lists of the items and call your builders office and make an appointment with their service person.
The lost key issue is bad but it sounds like the builder fixed that problem by giving you all new locks. It has even happened to me ….not often than god but once is enough.
Try to have a little patience with your builder. I know that my customer service person rarely goes the extra mile for an angry customer. But an understanding customer he will do more than what he’s required to do.
