connecting a steam shower?
i have purchased a steam shower…but i am unsure of the best way to do the electrics for it…it has to have twin 13 amp rcd fused spurs…would it be better to take it down to my main fuse box…or would it be fine just connecting it to the back of an existing socket on the ring main…the steam shower has a 3KW steam generator and a 12V control panel….what would be the best way to do this….if i connect it to the back of the socket, will the socket get too hot and melt over time?….any other suggestion are most welcome…thanks

EDIT…thanks for the reply…the way the guy was going to do it was to fit a twin rcd powerbreaker…which has rcd already fitted to it incase anything blows…these would then be connected to the back of a normal twin socket which is on the ring main circuit…the sockets are not in the bathroom, they are placed in the bedroom next door.
A Fixed appliance – like a Steamer/Shower – has to have its own Electric Supply. Direct from the Main Fuse Box. It also needs a Residual Current Device so that all Power will switch off if there is a fault. And within 30 milliseconds. It will also need a Local switch to turn it off and on. Separate from the switch on the Shower. Unless your House is wired to the latest IEE Regulations you will need to add Equipotential Bonding to the Water pipes. Including any Metal on the Waste pipe. If you get it wrong you wont get an Electric Shock because you will be naked and wet. You will just die. Is it worth saving the Cost of a nice Bouquet of Flowers. Get a Man that knows. Yes I’ve read the Instructions and if you have a !3Amp socket in your Bathroom you need a serious rethink about your Life Expectancy. You cant have any Electric Controls on 230 Volts inside the Bathroom.
