To save chlorine or not to save, who’s right?

I have 50 lbs of granular chlorine that I was planning to save for next years pool season, as in Michigan, we only have about a month left. It’s way too expensive to throw out.
Three people have said its OK to save it and use it next year, and one guy said those 3 are idiots, and that it can’t be saved.
Who is correct???

Of course you can keep it just remember that chlorine is an oxidizer so don’t keep it near any metals or they will get ruined even if the container is sealed. I have seen too many pool pumps get ruined this way.
