I was cleaning out my junk drawer and pulled out a hot 9-volt battery. What should I do with it?
It wasn’t connected to anything and I don’t have anywhere nearby to take it for recycling. Will it be ok if I just throw it away??
Something in the drawer was shorting out the terminals. Don’t save it for your smoke detector as the battery is probably very run down now. Alkaline batteries can just be thrown in the trash.
