Is it safe to go to a spa during pregnancy? What about spa bath treatments?
I have read it is ok to swim in the pool, and it is ok to use baths as long as they are not hot, or over your body temperature. I am 16 weeks pregnant, and my husband and I have an anniversary and I booked us a day in the spa, and a rose oil bath for two. Now I think about it I dont know was it a good idea, and now I cant cancel it. The lady in the spa did ask how far along am I, and she didnt say it is not good for me. But once again do they really know?
I am sure I can ask them to not make the bath too hot. But now I wonder is it possible I get some infection from it? :-s Should I go ahead and have my treatment? Thanks for your answers!
Skip the bath. It will likely be warmer than your body temp and therefore not good for baby. Any of the other stuff is fine though, like pregnancy massage, etc.
