How do you deal with a shower/tub combo with a wooden window to the outside in it?
The window was painted. The paint is cracking. It gets moldy, and I’m also afraid water will start leaking down the insides of the walls creating a severe mold problem. The shower has tile, which we plan to remove and replace with something else. A tub surround seems impossible unless we close up the window. Our house is brick, and finding matching brick might not be possible. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated… Thanks!
Any possibility of turning the unit 90 degrees? Bet the toilet`s in the way. Oh well just a thought. Personally, I don`t think you`ll be happy with out the opening. Also to match the brick will probably difficult. I would definitely ditch the wood window. If the window is`nt being opened, you might try glass block, or a fixed glass vinyl unit. You can also get acrylic block in vinyl frames. If the window will be opened, a vinyl single hung or horizontal slider would probably be appropriate. If and when you replace the window, a tempered glass will probably be required. Check with you distributor. As far as the tube shower problems go, I can`t say as I`m an expert on that. Although their was a product available that simulated marble that could be installed in solid sheets. Think the product name was marbelite. It was applied the same way as tile, but the only joints were in the corners. Good Luck!!!!
