Do expensive items on ebay sell faster with free shipping or is it better to charge b/c it’s a hook?

I sell used hot tubs on ebay and charge a low shipping rate plus I cover some of it. They sell in just days but will they sell faster if I offer free shipping or does it make no difference. Shoppers typically ask for shipping quotes late at night so I can’t give them a quote until the next day. Is waiting for their quote till the next day a good hook or is offering free shipping going to get a faster sale? The ones who end up buying are always the ones who say “Hi Im very interested in buying and would like a shipping quote to my zip code” and then they write their name as opposed to the ones who don’t buy the next day usually had just said “how much to ship to so and so zip code” with no name. Is the reason why they sell quicker because they stewed overnight maybe?

It depends what you mean by expensive. I bought a quite good watch on there for about 376GBP a few months ago 425USD (?) – the p&p was free (or included, or whatever)… this was a better deal to me than paying (say) 12 for the p&p.
