2 laptop specs side-by-side: Help me choose a great laptop?

The TOSHIBA Satellite C650D-12J vs HP G62-a16SA. I love the features and look of the HP, but i’ve heard such bad things about hp laptops (short lived, low quality) I hear Toshiba is high quality, but the features and look is less appealing to me.
I need a long-lasting laptop used for college work, gaming (The Sims 3), Surfing the net, downloading music/movies and watching movies.
Please recommend one, or another one, and explain why it is the superior laptop.
Hard drive size isn’t a HUGE issue as I store all my movies/music/tv shows on my 1TB external Hard drive.
Fast running and the ability to play the Sims 3 is more important to me
the HP has a smaller hard drive, but a much better screen and a better battery life (because of the LED screen).
i wouldnt take old experiances or experiances other people have had to put yuo off of a purchase. if any parts on a laptop or PC are going to fail, they usually do within the first few weeks, or months, after that, if they are treated right they are good for years (bar the battery which ususally starts to die after a year)
i’d go with the HP.

i think both machines might struggle with sims 3, they may be able to play them, but it will be at such a low frame rate that it will become very annoying very fast.
