How do clean Algae growth in a whirlpool tub?
we have a whirlpool tub that we use once a month, and when we turn on the jets, a black algae comes out. And mixes with the water. Is there anything we can do to clear out the lines so this doesnt happen?
First run enough water in the tub to cover the jets and add bleach or something like that to the water. Turn on the pump and let it run a couple minutes and turn it off. Let the water sit for a while to give the bleach time to kill the algae in the lines and pump. Drain the tub. Run fresh water in the tub and kick the pump back on. This is to flush the bleach water out. Drain the tub. After each use, with the water drained kick the pump on to expel the remaining water from the pump and lines. That’s where the algae is coming from. The water that is left in the pump and lines for a month at a time. It might spit and sputter some when you use it next time but that should take care of your algae problem.
