How to keep heat in a house? It’s cold in here and hot outside??

I am so sick of this house doing this I weatherstripped, covered the attic opening with plastic, covered all the windows, caulked behind baseboards, went outside and covered stuff with ugly caulk. Tired of thinking its cold outside and freezing in here then when I walk outside all clothed up, it’s warm as hell, aw come on! Electricity is too much for this and running on low budget. Coming in to the kitchen is a nightmare when I just want to take my time and cook… practically sit in one room all day with a space heater because of the cold and if I could get some darn reflectors or something I would. I am going crazy here, i even have to move my cat to each room cause she keeps opening the door to get in…goodness someone please help! I would like to keep some of my money to live other than give it all to the darn electric company. Oh, plus, my roof goes around the house like an awning, so, it’s hard to get direct sunlight here. Any help would be appreciated!

a ventless proprane or gas heat does a really good job of heating for less money than electricity. I used one when remodeling my house with out any insulation. This time of year you can find them on clearance for 1/2 off at home depot and lowes. for less than $100 you can get 1000sf heater
