Trouble with my hot tub (No heat)?
I have a hot tub that is 5 years old and just recently the heating element went out. We checked the new element with a multimeter after we put it in and got 12 ohms. That is supposed to be good. The breaker stays on and GFCI has not been tripping. However, we can’t get the water to heat. Any ideas? We also had to replace the pressure switch, which is mounted on the tube that the heating element is housed in. I was very careful installing everything. Maybe I’m missing something. Help is appreciated.
just a shot in the dark but did u check the control dial. Does the ohmmeter fluctuate when the dial is turned. Also these things have circuit boards that control water temp and pump volume that tend to go bad. I would contact the manufacturer, usually if you call around enough and have patience you can get a tech to help you troubleshoot your situation.
