07 explorer sirius radio installation?
i bought a sirius radio with the install kit and direct adapter kit for my girlfriends 07 explorer. I installed the same exact unit in my 01 f150 in about 30 minutes with no problems. on her explorer, where the FM direct antenna adaptper cable should plug into the back of the factory head unit (and then the factory antenna cable plug into the back of the FM direct adatper) the male and female antenna ports are slighty different. i know i obviously need some kind of antenna adapter but what is it called and where can i find one?? ive tried radio shack, best buy, SIRIUS, etc and have had no luck…any help or a link to what i need to buy would be GREATLY appreciated. thank you
You are absolutely right. The part you are looking for is called an antenna adapter, and I’d talk to an installer at Best Buy because I can assure you they sell them. You’ll need 40-CR10 and 40-CR20. Don’t be confused by the packaging. Your vehicle actually uses Chrysler style antenna adapters.
