My kitten sings in the shower?
Well me and my Fiancee adopted a 8 month old female tabby about 3 months ago, and she is a sweet little thing, But she has one habit that is odd, when ever I take a shower or a bath, she will sit on the edge of the bathtub and MEOW LOUD, she will sniff my face then meow REALLY loud, like she is the one taking a shower. But yet we have never given here a bath nor stuck her in the shower, and the family we adopted her from, told us they had never put her in the shower or bath either. I have a feeling its because I am 8 weeks pregnant, and she wants to make sure I’m alright while I’m sitting in the bath she will sniff me and sniff the water, then meow LOUD, or if I’m taking a shower she will poke her paw and head in the shower and meow loud. My fiancee believes that she is just seeing the shower, and sees the steam and is just nervous…Any ideas anyone
Every cat will have all kinds of individual quirks. She doesn’t care if you’re pregnant or not. Some cats love to be around the edge of the bath. Some are talkative. Some are social. Some are not.
I had a cat who loved to sit at the edge of the bath when my daughter was little. Whenever my daughter was in the bath, there was the cat. She would walk up and down the side of the tub, meowing the whole time. When my daughter had the occasional bubble bath, the cat would try and walk on the bubbles. She never learned and she fell in every time. This was a cat who had a thing for bathrooms and no one could go into one without her. She loved a captive audience! If you talked back to her when she meowed, even better.
That cat has long since passed, but I have one now who loves the bathroom sink. Whenever you’re in the bathroom, she must go with you and curl up in the bathroom sink and purr the whole time you’re there. When you leave, she leaves too. My other cat will have nothing whatsoever to do with the bathroom.
It’s more than likely just a personality quirk.
