How do I modify an LED controller.?
I bought an interior illumination kit for my car off eBay and it doesn’t work how I want it to. I want it to turn right on when power goes to it so it’ll turn on when I open my doors. The problem is each time you kill the power to it, the controller resets and when you put power back on it the lights don’t come on unless you hit the power button. If I short the power button, the lights will come on with the power but than the mode buttons don’t do anything. It has those little dome buttons like the cheapy calculators have so I think its some kind of digital button. Any ideas on how I can have it turn on automatically with the power but still be able to use the other buttons? I know a bit about electronics but cant figure it out.

To do what you want you would need a system that has two power lines. One that is always on, and one that keys the system to turn on the lights. Without knowing what is inside the system, it is hard to say how to modify it.
