Water Aerobics when pregnant?
Is this safe? I don’t understand how you are advised against spas and baths but can go into a heated pool and excercise. Anyone shed some light?
It come down to the water temp of the spas and the pools. As i work in Aquatic Industry I can tell you most spa sit on 36-38 (40 is rare but some are set that high) degrees which in turn raises your body temp and your heart rate to unsafe level while pregnant.Don’t forget your body temp is up anyway while pregnant. As for pool the water aerobics is conducted in, the water should sit on 27-30 which is very safe for mums to be. Water Aerobics is a very low impacted from of excercise, the water also support your belly and is very calming for your unborn child.Don’t froget to let the instructor know that your pregnant and they will(should) modifie some for the movement for you.I hope this helps
