Recovery after getting a tattoo and naval piercing?
I was wondering if anyone could help me because I am going to get a tattoo and a piercing as well over the next few weeks. My question is mainly in regards to recovery and what to expect. The tattoo will be on my shoulder blade, likely no bigger then a half dollar with minimal detail but with color. The piercing will be in my naval. I wanted to kill two birds with one stone, so do you all recommend I do both at the same time or is it smarter to get one first then the other? I am going on a trip at the end of the month and wanted to know what to expect because I of course don’t want my trip ruined. So will I be able to be physically active like normal and if not for each how long would it take to be able to exercise etc? Also what should I expect both to look like by the end of the month if say I get them done this Saturday? I don’t plan on swimming but we are going to a spa so will a hot tub mess either up. I would appreciate the help since I am a newbie.
There is no “recovery time” for a tattoo that small. It will be sore for a couple of days and you need to put A&D ointment on it (don’t waste your money on the crap they try to sell you). Stay out of pools for a couple of weeks. It will be healed well before a month – that is a tiny tattoo and will be no problem.
It takes about a year for a naval piercing to completely heal. It’s going to be sore and infected for months. You can do anything you normally do, but will have to wear clothing that does not hurt or damage the piercing.
