Should we rent this house for $1,000 a month?
Our apartment lease is up in a couple of months and we have been looking at getting a rent house. We have been living in apartments for almost 4 years now…now quite ready to buy a house. Our apartment now is a one bedroom one bath about 600 sq ft. Well my husband’s boss has a rent house right on the lake for $1,200 a month but said we can have it for $1,00o a month. It is a 2 bedroom one bath, with a huge kitchen and living room with big windows facing the lake. It comes with a jacuzzi tub, washer and dryer, new kitchen appliances, hot tub on a deck in the back and it is on a huge lot. So my question is, is that a lot of money for renting a house? Now we pay $600 for our apartment. Thanks!
That sounds average for all that it comes with and the high end location.
Your rent should never be more than 1/3 of your income. If your combined income is $3,000/ mo or more then you should be fine.
