how come my air conditioner only cools off my basement?
My air conditioner is cranked up. its the right size for my 2800sq ft home, however, while my basement is freezing, the main floor is somewhat comfortable and the upstairs is like a sauna… can anybody offer any insight???
Has it worked properly in past years or is this a new installation ? Is your unit plumbed into your house duct work for forced air heating ? It sounds like a duct work cleaning may be in order or the basement duct vents are open when they should be closed. your basement is going to be the coldest area in the house and does’nt need air conditioning anyway…it’s naturally cooler.
