Thinking about putting in a pool?
We just bought our first home, the back yard is smallish and we’re thinking about putting in a pool. The pools we’re looking at are $1,300-$2,000. We have the money for it but I’m wondering what is the actual cost of owning a pool? I know home owners insurance goes up, our yard is also fenced in. Plus how much will it cost to fill it and keep it running? We live in northeast Ohio so we’ll use it from late May to late August, or we could also get a heater and use it into September.
If we don’t get a pool we’re looking at a hot tub. We have a huge deck that we’d like to redo and downsize. It’s a little big for the size of the backyard, but if we get a spa we’ll keep the size and put the spa on the deck. I’m just not sure, I’d really prefer a pool.
What do you think would be best? And how much is the actual cost of owning a pool?
Above ground and in-ground? I have an above ground 18 foot diameter and it’s not all that hard to maintain. The tip is to get a good filter. You can fill it with a hose over a few days or order pool water.
