Is it some sort of TRADITION or INITIATION to strip for your first dip in hot tub, or first hot tub party?
2 couples we met recently, & really like, keep inviting us to join them in the hot tub at one’s house (on patio, but not in sight of neighbors). They insist we have to honor this “tradition” the first time. My husband doesn’t mind. I think I might be able to take off my suit after I’m in the water, but am not sure about strolling around naked for all to see. (at least not the 1st time!) I offered to wear very skimpy string bikini or strip under water, but not good enough! Is this a real tradition/initiation or are they joking with us?? What would you do? If we go, but I won’t strip, I think they might take matters into their own hands!
I heard this is tradition for swimming parties too from our neighbors. We were talked into it (several cocktails!). About 6 others there. Our initiation was to walk out onto the diving board & strip & stand at attention for 3 minutes. I was sent out 1st. After my turn & during my husband’s, they couldn’t contain their laughter & had to admit they had never done it before & were taking advantage of this urban legend. Oddly, we gradually became friends (& skinny dipped later on). Still, take my word for it THIS IS A PRANK. (probably harmless, but a prank)
