Selection of space heaters for anti-condensation applications in motors is fairly simple, rather inexact, and not directly related to motor rated kW.
Commonly, medium sized motors (~50 – ~250 kW) may have one or two 100 W space heaters. Larger motors may be supplied with more heaters. Regions having severe condensation problems may require more heaters, but usually 50-100 W of heat in a motor termination compartment is more than enough to prevent condensation problems.
Also, my company’s practice was to specify the space heaters at 240 Vac, but operate them at 120 Vac. (Obviously, you could use 220 & 110.) The heaters put out only 1/4 the rated power, but they were less likely to have hot spots, and would have a longer lifespan.
