Will a 67,000 BTU heater heat up a 2300 sq ft. house?
We have just moved in, and this house doesnt even near as get as warm as our other house is (not even comfortable warm)
We have the electric central heat up to 85 and it seems as is it was getting colder (64 and dropping)
The high is going to be around 25 today.There are kids that need to stay warm. someone please help me.
Im thinking one of the heating elements are out, it has 2 9.6kw ones in it,is this possible?
i would call a tech but i don’t have that kind of money now.

is where i have found the answer also the heater i have uses 2 9.6kw heating elements.
My solution is to buy a 40 dollar space heater until i can get the money to replace the 150 dollar heating element.

It sounds to me like one or more of the elements or a fuse link or control has gone bad. the elements are usually 5kw each. I owned a home in FL and even when it would get into the 30′s I could keep my house at 72. I only had a 10kw heater and my house was 2350 living area. Of course the house was very tight and insulated very well. Unfortunately without a lot of electrical/electronics knowledge it can be difficult and dangerous to troubleshoot and repair an electric furnace.
