can a shower be added to an existing whirlpool tub unit?
I am looking to purchasing a new home and it currently only has one shower in a very small bathroom. The ‘larger’ bathroom has a whirlpool tub built in it with edges..can a shower be added in it some how?
yes. find a good plumber with some design background and they can give you a variety of options. Such as adding a hand held shower that is connected to the faucet system, or installing a static shower head to the wall above the tub, if you do that you will need to add a surround to avoid water damage to the walls if none exists. also there is the option of a rain shower type head with a shower curtain that goes completely around the existing tub setup. Then a surround may not be needed. One thing is for certain. Bathroom upgrades increase home values immediately if you plan well and don’t get too fancy for the type of dwelling it is.
