Confused and scared please help?
A week ago my wife was diagnosed with trichmonisis which in turn led me to my doctor the next day. He pretty much said it is std and gave me pills to take. He also says a man doesnt usually show any symptom. Well for me knowing that i have not fooled around on my wife and honestly dont beleive she has on me leaves us both in the air being that other help profesionals say it can also come from pools, spas, shared towels, etc. Is there a definate way of knowing for sure if it was contracted thru sex and if so how do i get these test for us? From very concerned husband of 11 years.
There’s no way to establish which of you had it first, or how it was acquired.
However, trichomoniasis is a sexually transmitted disease and is spread through sexual contact (see http://www.cdc.gov/std/trichomonas/STDFact-Trichomoniasis.htm ). Reputable organizations such as the CDC and ASHA do not have any information to support it being spread through spas, towels, etc. However, like in many things, there can always be an edge case of infection through unusual means.
