Do interlocking patio pavers make a good pad for a hot tub / spa?
The patio I have was installed professionally with a proper sand base.
It probably depends on the weight of the spa and whats under the sand under the pavers – concrete slab or road base etc.
My spa is 1500 Litres so weighs over 1.5 tonne when full of water. When I purchased it the spa shop said the warranty was void if it wasn’t on either a concrete slab OR railway sleepers. Maybe you could put sleepers over the pavers if they are not laid over a concrete base? This could also compensate for the slope which should be on your pavers if they are correctly laid.
I had my spa in the garage for over a year before moving it to a permanent location near the pool. It is much more expensive to run outside than it was in the garage and I am currently battling with ants who want to nest inside the spa box.
