Dual climate control heater question?
I have a 99 Buik Century with daul climate control. We turned on the heater today and it blows hot on the passenger side and ice cold on the drivers side. It doesnt matter wether its set to vent, floor, or defrost, it still wont blow hot on the drivers side. Yes I set the controls right but its still not working. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
I believe these have a split blend door, and that’s how the dual climate control works. The blend door works by operating between the heater core and the evaporator core (A/C), or drawing in fresh outside air. Where the blend door stops determines if you have hot, warm, or cool air blowing into the car. If the control motor (sometimes vacuum operated, sometimes electrical) is not working correctly, you will have the problem you’re experiencing. There may be an issue with the control head itself, too. This needs to be addressed by a good technician, at either your dealer or favorite indpendent repair shop.
