Invited to spa when 2 weeks pregnant — what to do?
My sister-in-law’s bridal shower is in a few weeks and she is going to have a spa day. This all sounds wonderful, but I am having IVF in a couple of days and assuming it will be successful, I will be 2 weeks pregnant by the time of the spa day(!). I know the spa party will want to indulge in hot soaks, steam rooms, body wraps, body massages, etc., all of which are apparently no-nos, esp. in early pregnancy. How should I best handle the situation without letting anyone know I am pregnant? Any and all advice will be very much appreciated.
Call the spa ahead of time and tell them that you are pregnant and that you don’t want the other ladies to know. They will recommend treatments that are safe. Every spa I have ever been to has strict rules on which products and treatments they use for pregnant women. You can definitely get a light body massage, scalp massage, pedicure, facial with all natural products, etc. Good luck with the IVF!
