Cheap temperature readings <2,000 F?
I am trying to measure temperatures of exhaust on my jet turbine at various stages. Some may reach upwards of 2,000F. Thermocouples may work, but I cant find a decent way to have an indicator (digital or analog) for each thermocouple, so I could place them in a control panel. Also, I would like to measure the gas, but that would require drilling holes in the exhaust line and somehow sealing it with a thermocouple… However, if I used a surface thermocouple, how could I affix it to the steel? Solder would surely melt. Help!
