New lay z spa – how much chlorine should I start with?
Just bought a lay z spa (takes about 900 litres) – what is a sensible amount of chlorine to put in initially? Also I have heard you can use baking soda as a ph plus – is this true?
My knowledge is mostly in pools, so I don’t know if spas can differ.
Here’s what I know about pools: Bleach, Baking Soda and Borax are all you need to keep your PH, Alkalinity and Chlorine balanced.
Chlorine levels can generally be a little higher than what is recommended and won’t hurt you if the rest of your water is balanced
You really want to know the easiest way. Buy a cheap bottle of test strips. The instructions will give you a good idea on how to balance your water. You can find them inexpensively here.
