touching mercury question..LOOK!?
me and my 2 frends were in his hot ub and the thermometer broke in the pool and we didnt noe and i felt like a round thing and i piked it up, and held it for like 8 seconds, is this bad?
and…i mitea put my head under water with my mouth open, is this bad
All of the hype about mercury is based on people who used handfuls of it without gloves every day for years. People used to use it to form hats back in the day, so the hatters who used it every single day for years would eventually go crazy (“mad as a hatter”). 8 seconds won’t be a problem, since very little of it would have actually gotten into your skin anyways and, as long as you didn’t swallow much of the water (specifically the droplets of mercury), that shouldn’t be an issue either. You honestly probably didn’t get much more mercury into your system than you would if you ate a big piece of ocean fish.
