Why is my hot water pressure in my shower low?
For some reason, the hot water coming out of the bath tub / shower is weaker than the cold water. I live in an older house, so it has smaller pipes, but the cold water comes out just fine. Does anyone have suggestions for the cause? The regular sink faucets seem to be fine. Also, I just replaced the handles…so I can rule that out. It may be time to call a plumber, but if anyone has suggestions I’d look into it. thnx
I replaced the fixture. How would I check if a line is being clogged somewhere? I will probably end up calling a plumber, but I’ve asked one before and they said it’s just old plumbing….but I think it’s weird because the hot looks fine in the sink….but the sink is much smaller…so maybe I’m just stuck with low pressure showers….just barely enough to take one really.
You just replaced the handles or the fixture? If an old fixture it could have a piece of a rubber washer jammed in the valve causing problems. If you just changed the fixture did you have this problem before you changed them? If not, your new fixture has a problem. Is there a shutoff before the shower? It might not have been turned all the way back on once the fixture was installed. Just some ideas. Good luck.
