we just set up a hot tub and everything seems to keep freezing?
We just bought a used Hot Tub. Some of the pipe/tubes leading to the jets must have ice in them because they are not shooting water out. I turned the heat up to high and am continuing to keep the thing running to try and get some more heat on the tubes or in the area. My next step is to warp some electrical pipe tape that is for pipes to keep from freezing. Anyone have any advice.

Mike – electrical tape isn’t designed to prevent pipes from freezing. It’s difficult to tell what is and is not working based on the question you posed. However, the water is heated centrally in a hot tub, and it should thaw any ice from the pipes in short order. If you have a manual with your tub, read it over to ensure your have the jet nozzles turned to the proper direction to ensure water flow.
I keep my hot tube water temp at a minimal warm temperature, and I don’t have to worry about pipes freezing. (‘course I do live in the southeast US). Still, hot tubs are designed to run during the winter months, so technology is incorporated to prevent water from easily freezing. Also, I don’t know what kind of features your tub has, but you should be able to set a timer to cut on at least every so many hours which would further prevent freezing. Your best bet is to check to see the ports are not blocked whereby encouraging frost.
