My filter in my spa / hot tub is not easily coming out, any tips on how to remove it?
Should I turn harder, or should I be afraid of it breaking?

The filrer is a top loader, we have removed the filter lid and now the filter is exposed, instructions say to turn counter clockwise and lift, we have tried to turn and it is stubborn, didn’t want to turn to hard without knowing if we should.
Most likely you have a screw in filter that just needs a lot of persuasion. Unless it is really old and brittle the odds are your not going to be able to use enough force to break it off at the threads. I Bet you have some major scaling in your tub around the filter’s threads. Worse case your spending 30 bucks.
