is it ok to take a bath during pregnancy?
ok so i just moved into a new apt and i have this huge beautiful bath tub and i want to take a bath just want to know if its ok if the water is at my body temp i have a water thermometer to test it to make sure it is not over i called my doc and the secretary wouldnt let me talk to the doc but said that she doesnt think its a good idea cause im gonna want to take a hot bath and that would change my body temp but if it is as hot as my body is that ok
A WARM bath is fine…a hot one is not. Your baby can’t control its body temperature on its own, and therefore needs you to regulate it for him (or her). If the water is only as warm as your body, that’s perfectly fine. Pretty dumb of the secretary to go assuming things like that. Make sure you have a chat with your OB at your next visit and assure him that you’ve carefully regulated the water temperature of all your baths! Enjoy your new place and congratulations!
