Trim kit for a bath/shower- Please help!?
Ok, there is nothing wrong with my shower except that it’s ugly. I want to replace the tub spout, handles, and shower head. I heard I could do this with a “trim kit” but I don’t know what using the trim kit would entail. Would I still have to bust the wall open? Is it something I can do myself?
And on top of that, I can barely find any 2-handle trim kits; the majority are 1 handle. There is no access panel behind the wall either. So I don’t know if I can convert from 2 handle to one handle without busting through the back of the wall. I wouldn’t mind having to tear out the tile because I was planning on changing that anyway. Can I just tear out the tile in the bathroom to make the conversion?
Not sure what a “trim kit” involves either but if you’re going from 2 handles to 1 it usually means tearing apart the wall, cutting & sweating pipes. If you’re planning on removing the tile, no is the time to take the big leap & change everything you want to with your bathroom.
