Can you use a computerized bath tub that is made in Turkey in the States?
My husband and I are currently stationed in Turkey and they have a store like Home Depot that is selling a combination computerized jacuzzi shower sauna hot tub. It also has a radio and lights which means it is wired with 220v not 110v like the states. If we do buy it, is it easy to change it from 220v to 110v?
Not unless you get the power requirements converted. Turkey uses 220volt, 50 Hz system, just like Europe. We use 110v, 60 Hz…..
It’s not so much the voltage, but the Hertz cycle that will be the problem. In the US, the lectricity pulses at 60 times per minute, hence 60 Hz, 50 Hz means let pulses, so it would probably burn out if used here in the states.
I think by the time everyone could or would be switched out, you’d be better off just buyig an American model.
p.s. one thing to check, it may be one of those products that are made for dual use. You just slide a switch from the European to American standard. It’s designed internally for both. My wife and I bought dual-voltage during our time in Europe, and it saved a lot of frustration and money.
